Baseball, SUV’s, and Halloween

Posted by: Yoggie    in Birthdays, News

First off, today is John Carpenter’s 55th birthday. Other birthdays include Ronnie Milsap, 60, and Jim Stafford, 59.
Baseball is on the verge of making a big breakthrough in reviving the game. The owners are set to vote today on wether to use the outcome of the All-Star Game to determine the home-field advantage in the World Series. Presently the advantage is switched between the leagues each year. About time they did something to help the game. I was getting tired to the All-Star Game just being an over-bloated photo-op. You can read more about it here.
Now a rant about SUV’s. I will not go into great detail since you can read this article. I distinctly hate SUV’s basically for the reasons in the article and the fact that they are unsafe not only for the driver but for others on the road and at home. They are also gas hogs and super polluters. The latest news about possible new regulations on SUV’s. Warning: The second SUV link is to a NPR link to an archived broadcast in Quicktime.
Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now.
Other news, my friend Kim of Fragile Sin has redesigned her site and picked up a new moniker, Kimba49er. Check out her new site.

And no, I will not date your sister.
