Blog Bear

I agree with Gretchen Pirillo, it seems that there has been a sudden drop in the frequency of blog updates lately. Could it be that all can be said has been said? Or is it just everyone is in a melancholy haze with the dystopia world we live in?
Why don’t we all jump into a Jacuzzi with our favorite porn stars and have some good ol’ fashion fun.

Late Monday Mission et al

Posted by: Yoggie    in Monday Mission

Sorry this is late. Yesterday was a holiday in my household.

1. Friday I wrote about “People I Can Do Without.” How about adding to the list with a few people you can live without?
People who yell obscenities in front of the camera during a live broadcast. Case in point, a rabid Oakland fan on the CBS AFC championship broadcast. Also hate trolls!

2. Have you ever felt like someone truly respected you? What does being respected mean to you personally?
Yes, strangely from the people at work. Being respected means that people will listen to and contemplate what you say regardless of their beliefs and wether what I am saying is right or wrong.

3. In (past or current) relationships, what is the “one thing” your partner would change about you if they could?
My temper. I admit I will blow-up on the least things at times.

4. Have you ever tried to change who you are to please someone? How did that turn out?
Yes on a few occasions. When it was something that wasn’t really an improvement, the change was superficial and didn’t last and it usually ended the relationship bitterly. Changes that improved who I was lasted and ended up helping the relationship.

5. Do you believe in love at first sight? Can it really happen?
Yes, I believe it can happen and that it can happen more than once. I fell for my wife at first site, even though she was married to someone else at the time (their relationship was already over). Noe don’t confuse love with lust. And there are many kinds of love.

6. Today is “Martin Luther King Jr. Day” in the United States. King’s non-violent protests against unequal treatment of African-American people led to radical change in America, and ultimately, his assassination in 1968. How have Rev. King’s accomplishments impacted or influenced your life?
I am much more tolerant towards all people than my parents and I am more willing to seek a peaceful solution to problems. I embrace the differences we all have.

7. In America, our President declared yesterday to be “National Sanctity of Life Day.” While it enacts no change in policy or program, it does allow our country’s leader to make a declarative statement about abortion. How do you feel when you hear about a government taking a position such as this?
It is a hypocritical statement. How can you be so for the sanctity of life if you are so willing to execute people in our prisons and make war on innocents. What about the woman’s sanctity? This is just more of the GOP Big Brother plan.

BONUS: What will I do if you say we’re through?
Move on to better relationships after eating 20 lbs of chocolate.

Do yours.
