Bow before the mighty Yog-Sothoth!

   Posted by: Yoggie    in Errata

Yes, I am a Lovecraftian nightmare just waiting to happen.

Lovecraft’s Heir

Your Mythos Knowledge score is 106!

“You know what’s going on, possibly as well as Lovecraft himself, and that knowledge has pushed your SAN to the limit. You probably seem insane to those who don’t know, but you don’t care. You know what’s going to happen when the Great Old Ones awaken, but you haven’t really accepted it yet. Good luck.”

Dead Friday Five

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

A very morbid Friday Five, especially for this time of the year.

So you find yourself dead. Can’t control what happens next, or can you?

1. The split second before you’re about to die, time stops and you can accomplish one last task before the end. What is it?
Crap! Like I can accomplish one task. I have enough of them to fill many lifetimes and you just want one?

2. The Nacissistic Death is all about you – in what manner did you die?
The sun unexpectedly exploded. Quick, painless, and never know what hit me.

3. What music/song would you like played at your funeral?
The sun exploded, there is no one left. Well, I guess if aliens were giving us a funeral I’d like Danny Boy.

4. RIP? You can do better than that – what finals words to the world are etched on your tombstone/urn?
“Dead? I thought I was just really, really tired this morning.”

5. Apparently, there’s suppose to be happiness in the afterlife. What age are you and what’s different about you that makes you oh so happy to be here?
I am 41 and I’m just happy breathing. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Do your Friday Five weekly.

Where has the day gone… in the crapper!

Posted by: Yoggie    in Errata, Personal

I should have stayed in bed yesterday and today. Last night my car broke a belt in the engine, so I called the repair shop this morning. Of course I forgot to leave them a key, so I had to drop off the key in my lunch hour. Turns out that the belt broke because the water pump seized up, the same one that has been replace twice in that car. Well, I decided to go ahead and get the oil changed while it is in the shop and replace that tire that had been worn down to the threads (little wires sticking out everywhere). And you know who much it is gonna cost to replace that water pump. And I had to get i towed as well, you can’t run a car without power steering (it doesn’t work when the belt is broken… figure that). At first I was looking at maybe $75 dollars worth of work…. now it is at around $300.

Of course I have managed to get nothing done today. And I’m still waiting on users to get their testing done for the software I had to modify to comply with changes that should have taken place years ago.

I could use a really stiff drink now… or a wild orgy full of beautiful East Indian women… or both. Yeah, like I’d get anything like that.

Safe second skin

Posted by: Yoggie    in Funnies, Sex, Wacky and Wanton

People send me the strangest stuff sometimes. Take for instance the email I just received from a female admirer who thought I would get a kick out of it. It is a list of catch phrases about using condoms.

Some of them are a bit risqué so you will have to click the more link below to see them. I’m warning you that some of it is NSFW.

Fan boy alert!

Posted by: Yoggie    in TV and TV Reviews

As you probably know by now, BBC has brought back Doctor Who and it will be premiering sometime next year on BBC 1. The BBC website hast posted a teaser trailer. Yes, let us in the United States get all excited over a a snippet of film and there are no plans to distribute in the U.S.! It will probably be in 2007 before we get a glimpse of the show and them probably only through pirated episodes.

BBC, I would be happy to get the shows on BBC-America six months after they air in England.

I guess it is time to dig out my Doctor Who episodes (what few I have) and satisfy myself that way.

It surprised me…

Posted by: Yoggie    in Personal, Relationships, Sex

Okay, I took this kinkiness test that I could swear I saw over at Just One Bite, but I can find the entry.

Honestly people, I answered this quiz truthfully and I got this result

Kinky bastard!

Congratulations! You scored 336!
Well well well, you kinky bastard! Most likely you’re into some weird shit, which is always great. Consider mailing the author of this test, and keep up the good work ;)

Test statistics:

* Compared to users who took the test and are and in your age group:
o 100% had lower kinkpoints scores.
* With respect to kinkpoints, users aged 90 to 94 scored highest.

I think there must be a mistake in the test somewhere. Yes, I am open minded about sex and I’ve tried a few things in the past… but I thought I was normal. No wonder so many men my age are old stogies.

My Maria

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friends, Music and Music Reviews

This goes out to a young lady, who shall remain nameless, that is starting on a new road in life. I hope you the best of luck and great fortune.

For some reason this song reminds me of her….

“My Maria”

(As recorded by B.W. Stevenson)
Daniel J. Moore
B.W. Stevenson

My Maria, don’t you know I have come a long long way
I’ve been longin’ to see her
When she’s around she takes my blues away
Sweet Maria, the sunlight surely hurts my eyes
I’m a lonely dreamer on a highway in disguise.

Maria
Maria, I love you.

My Maria, there were some blue and sorrowed times
Just my thoughts about you bring back, my peace of mind
You gypsy lady, you’re a miracle worker for me
You set my soul free like a ship sailin’ on the sea.

She is the sunlight when the stars are gray
She treats me so right lady, take me away.

Maria
Maria, I love you
Maria
Maria, I love you.

Friday Five of Fear

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

I guess you call Fear of Friday (Paraskeviphobia) Five….

1. If you have a phobia (or something close to one), what is it?
I guess it is the fear of heights. I don’t know if it is actually a phobia since it has more to do with my inner ear problems and the change in air pressure makes me dizzy.

2. How long have you had the phobia (or something close to it)?
As longs as I can remember…. same as with the inner ear problem.

3. If you know anyone with a phobia (or something close to it), how does s/he act when s/he is experiencing it?
Yes, my wife and kids have a fear of spiders (arachnophobia). They go into panic attacks sometimes when they see one. Me, on the other hand, just put the spiders outside where they can do the most good.

4. What is one phobia you would wish not to have?
Fear of blood (hematophobia). With that kind of phobia I wouldn’t be able to function since blood is usually everywhere when you have children.

5. What is one phobia you wouldn’t mind having, if you were to face one?
Hellenophobia, the fear of Greek or Latin terms. It would have given me an excuse to skip math and latin classes.

Yes, paraskeviphobia is a real phobia.

Do your Friday Five.

Late Thanksgiving Friday Five part duo

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

There was a double Friday Five last Friday for those who did not celebrate Thanksgiving and I thought I’d do the none Thanksgiving one for extra credit.

1) was there a holiday meal, a special event meal, or even a weekly/monthly meal that you recall from childhood?
Since we are not talking about Thanksgiving, the one I remember is the monthly dinner in which we went out to eat. I could order anything I wanted to and I usually ordered spaghetti and fudge cake (it was at Shoney’s). Everyone else usually ordered steak or chicken. Now remember this was back when resturants were few and far between, not like today when there is a McDee’s on every corner.

2) who would gather with you for this meal?
It was usually my parents and my brother and sister. On occasion we would treat my grandparents or one of the uncles or aunts.

3) how about these days?
Since my family and I go out to eat quite often, there is only the traditional Mexican restaurant that we visit every other Monday… not that we don’t go there any other time (the waiters know me by name), but this is the special night.

4) who dines with you this time?
My wife, my kids, and an occasional in-law or family friend.

5) if you could create a gathering, why would people gather, who would you invite, and what would you eat?
We would gather just to be together and unwind with good food. I would invite my relatives and my friends and we would probably have a Tex-Mex type of meal (my specialty).

And I still have this Friday’s Five to do.

Do your Friday Five.

Groovin’ to Atlanta Rhythm Section, yeah.
