Don’t come a knockin’…

… if the van is a rockin’.

I heard this song on the radio earlier and it brought back memories Of course in ’75 I was all of twelve years old, but that didn’t stop me years later. Okay, so it was her van and we didn’t go “all” the way, but we did go past the heavy petting stage…

Yeah, I’m starting to freak out some of my readers now. But it was very special.

The song however brings back memories more of the care free days of my youth rather than the sexual exploits described in the song.

But I did give a ride to a barefoot girl and dropped her off in a town that small. The peck on the cheek was all the payment I needed for giving her a lift. Of course, it wasn’t long before I got into the habit of giving her a lift every week. And then we started dating…

I’m starting to ramble on again. She sure was pretty though. And nice. One of the few women I know of that finished college still a virgin.

Uhm, here is the song lyrics….

Chevy Van
by Sammy Johns

I gave a girl a ride in my wagon
Now she crawled in and took control
She was tired as her mind was draggin
And I said get some sleep-and dream of rock and roll

Like a picture she was laying there
And moonlight dancing off her hair
She woke up and took me by the hand
She’s gonna love me in my Chevy van
And that’s alright with me

Her young face was like that of an angel
And her long legs were tanned and brown
Better keep your eyes on the road son
Better slow this vehicle down ’cause

‘Cause like a picture she was laying there
And moonlight dancing off her hair
She woke up and took me by the hand
She’s gonna love me in my Chevy van
And that’s alright with me

I put her out in a town that was so small
You could throw a rock from end to end
A dirt road main street, she walked off in her barefeet
And it’s a shame I won’t be passin’ through again

Like a picture she was laying there
And moonlight dancing off her hair
She woke up and took me by the hand
We made love in my Chevy van
And that’s alright iwth me

Yeah like a picture she was laying there
And moonlight dancing off her hair
She woke up and took me by the hand
We made love in my Chevy van
And that’s alright with me

All right with me
