Welcome!
Yes, I finally got off my arse and moved the site… and the comments work.
I still have a lot of work to do so don’t be disappointed that some of the images will not display until I can make some changes.
More news later.
An international flavor Friday Five….
1. You have the summer and plenty of money to travel abroad. Where all would you go?
Ireland and Scotland. I really want to see the home of my ancestors.
2. What foods would you be sure you got to eat?
Haggis. Okay, I’ve already had haggis, but it would be nice to taste some of the more traditional flavor.
3. What landmarks would you be sure you got to see?
In Scotland, I want to see my ancestral castle which is still owned and maintained by distant relatives. There are so many places in Ireland and Scotland to visit I would have to stay the whole summer.
4. What airline would you use?
I have no clue. I’ve only flown once and I didn’t buy the tickets. I know nothing about booking a flight.
5. Would your knowledge of other languages influence where you went? (i.e. would you be more likely to go to France if you spoke French?)
Nope, but it does help to understand some of what is being saying.
Do your Friday Five.

What are you thinking?
And late as in I’m late for this musical Friday Five….
1. What is the first record/tape/CD that you bought?
My first record was something like a K-tel compilation record, my first tape (8-track) was the first Boston album, my first cassette tape was Meatloaf’s Bat Out Of Hell, and my first CD was… uhm… some classical music compilation CD.
2. Who is your favorite all time band/singer?
I have a lot of bands and singers I like. My favorite is Stevie Nicks. I still have a crush on her to this day.
3. What have you been listening to lately?
Back to the compilation CD’s, generally some of the pop hits from the 90′s.
4. What is your favorite radio station, what do they play, and where do they broadcast?
Georgia Public Radio. I know, how square can you get but I listen to the news every morning and listen to all the music during the day, and all of the wacky programs during the weekend. Car Talk anyone? What Do You Know.. not much, you?
5. Can you recommend a good song or CD that everyone should listen to?
That is difficult. Everyone has different tastes in music. If they had similar to my own I would suggest Bond‘s Shine CD. It is a good mix of classical quartet with modern dance music and rock. In fact they have a new CD out called Classified… hint, hint.
Do the Friday Five.
Argh! I’m 42 today! Argh! Why didn’t someone tell me my birthday was coming up!
Now I am twice as old as the people who just turned old enough to legally drink. Maybe that is why I don’t get anything done these days… I’M OLD!
Okay, so I’m not that old.
But that would explain why I still haven’t gotten this freakin’ site moved to the new server. Well, that and I have been busy.
I will make myself move this site TODAY!
Now, let’s see how much resolve I have.
Yes, it is Friday… which means I haven’t got crap done this week! I was all ready to move my blog to the new server when I decided to upgrade it before moving all the entries. Big mistake, especially one inexperienced with MT server configuration and upgrade as I am. First I use a zip program without telling it to keep the directory structure. Yep, all the files were in the same folder. So stupid me had to unzip the MT 3.16 upgrade file again with the directory structures in tact.
That should be enough eh? No, after I transfered the files to the server I tried to access the general MT application. It said that I had just changed the password. No I didn’t. Well, MT still insisted that I changed the password after about an hour of working with the database and the PHP files to no avail. Yes, I consulted the MT forum before I wasted my time and the suggested fix did not work after trying in four times.
After getting really, really peeved I decided to just get a clean install of the full 3.16 version (after I backed up all the files of the previous installation, like I really want to go through all that work configuring again). After installing the upgrade and editing the config files, I decided to run that mt-load application. Stupid idiot! You should have remembered to delete the tables in your database before you do that.
Okay, so I delete the tables in the database and re-run the load application. Finally I get an all-clear message. And glory be, I can log in, my entries come up, I can post, my comments work, and the mail problem is fixed.
Now all have to do is re-design the site and upload the old entries. Lucky me that I have a boat load of bandwidth at my new server.
Now lets hope I can get off my arse and get the site finished this weekend and start work on two more sites.
Yeah, like that is gonna happen.
Oh yeah, I picked up this hot compilation CD of some 90 hits such as Right Here Right Now by Jesus Jones, Sex And Candy by Marcy Playground, Breakfast At Tiffany’s by Deep Blue Something (my wife hates that song because she hates the movie.. go figure), and What’s Up by 4 Non Blondes (there is just something about Linda Perry‘s voice that makes me want to take off my underwear and throw it onto the stage).
Here is a sneak peak at a web comic based loosely on H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos. And when I say loosely, I mean in name only… as if HPL got really, really drunk after watching Animal House and decided to re-write all the myth tales.
So here is the pre-first installment of tentatively titled the The Dweller In The Darkness… and Friends.

Now it is you turn.
This Friday Five is centered around illness…
1. How often do you get sick?
Too often. It seems a month can’t go bay without me being sick with allergies or sinus infections.
2. Do you take a lot of over the counter medicine?
You would think I would, but besides pain pills I steer clear of drugs.
3. Have you ever been in the hospital for an extended period of time?
No more than for a couple of days. I have only been to have some surgery done to correct respiratory and hearing problems.
4. Are there any diseases that run in your family?
Other than obesity? There is some diabities in my family but that is about it.
5. What is the best remedy for the common cold?
Primarily rest and plenty of liquids. Soups, particularly chicken, helps. Also remember to eat.
Do your Friday Five.
Yes, I haven’t died yet you… you… you people you. No, I just so busy WORKING that I haven’t had time to blog. That and I’m having wild sex parties with a group of Oriental women… okay, so no sex parties or Oriental women, just a lot of Soccer Dad stuff.
More powerful that an errant young boy, faster than a speeding soccer ball, able to leap short fences in a single bound. Look! Up in the parking lot! It’s a construction worker, it’s a pop star, no it’s…. Soccer Dad!
But not even Soccer Dad can save you from TAX DEADLINE DAY! Yes, you have only a few hours left to get your taxes done and post marked. So for those who have not filed their taxes, now is the time to panic!
I filed mine waaaaaaaay back in February. Taxes is one thing I do not procrastinate on.
Besides, it’s fun to watch all these people panic at the last minute knowing you have already filed.
