No free soft drink today

Nope nothing nada.

That is what my brain is putting out. Not even caffeinated cola can get my brain going today. No post…

Well there is the matter of the really stupid rulings by the Supreme Court lately.

  • Public use? I don’t think the idea of public use means take the land from someone just because the private developer might bring in more tax money and may employ more people. Are the developers going to open the areas up to purely public use, or is there profits involved. God, that was a stupid ruling. – Side note: those half-baked Conservatives that claim this is a part of the Democratic party agenda need to think twice, Democrats don’t cater to the whims of big business, nor do they kick people out of their homes.
  • Display of the Ten Commandments – how can you be split on this? Display it or not, no sometimes about it. I personally think it is an offense to those not of the Judeo-Christian to have to be bombarded by constant reminders that they are not viewed by the ultra-conservation as true Americans.
  • P2P – now I can understand this ruling even though the justices need to sit down and clearify the language of their ruling for non-legalese speaking portion of the country. According to what I can gather, it is not illegal to use P2P, to provide P2P software, to promote its use, or to develop software for such use as long as you don’t promote the use of P2P for illegal purposes or for distributing copyrighted material. I just wish they were more clear in what they said.

The courts are generally pretty good a protecting our rights, but when they screw up they do so royally.
