Computer Friday Five

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

  1. What kind of computer do you have? (Mac, iBook, Dell, etc.)
At home I have an AMD. I’m not sure of the chipset speed, but I have a load of disc space.
  2. How old is it? Are you happy with it?
It is about four years old. At the time we bought it, the computer was a fairly good model that wasn’t too expensive. Trouble is the new computers which are faster with more memory and disk space are about $300 less than what we paid for ours. Mine is a little to slow for what I want to do, and I need to upgrade the video card.
  3. How many computers are in your household? (at home if you are away at school)
Just the one. We could use at least one more in our household.
  4. What are your favorite games/timewasters on your computer?
Game/timewaster? Solitaire. I’m not much of a gaming individual.
  5. If money were no object, what kind of computer would you like to have?
I would have the fastest, most powerful desktop available with the best video and sound cards, a flat screen monitor, and a media converter. In other words, the best of the best multipurpose computers.

Angelic Gimme 5

Posted by: Yoggie    in Gimme 5

  1. Do you believe in guardian angels?
I haven’t given much thought about it. I guess I do in a way, in keeping with the faith I was raised in.
  2. From whom did you get your Christmas presents – the Christ kind or Santa Clause?
Being that I was raised in a Protestant (as in non-Catholic) theology, I get my gifts from Santa.
  3. Do you like to go to the church?
Not really. I have a problem with organized churches mainly as I don’t have the same viewpoints as they usually have.
  4. Which story of the holy bible do you like?
The Resurrection. To me it symbolizes hope, even in the darkest of hours, will be rewarded and that we all have a chance at salvation, whatever salvation you seek.
  5. Which angel do you know?
Personally I don’t know any Angels, but I do know about a few of them…. Michael, Gabriel, Metatron, Uriel, Raphael, Uriel, Azrael, to name a few.

Friday Five for September 23, 2005

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

Do you have a dream you will always strive to achieve until your dying day?
Yes, to become a best selling author.

Do you believe in fate or free will, or something else?
I believe in a mixture. There are somethings that, because of the events that happened at the birth of the universe and the flow of time, are “fated” to happen, but that we generally have free will to direct our lives.

Marilyn Monroe. Conspiracy or tragic accident?
Something wasn’t quite right about her death. I’m not so sure it was a conspiracy but I have too many unanswered questions.

Favourite childhood sweets/candy?
Hersey’s Chocolate bar.

Favourite cocktail (alcoholic or virgin) and it’s ingredients?
Bloody Mary. I like the Tabasco sauce and tomato juice mixed with the spirits.

Feelin’ sleepy

It is Autumn

   Posted by: Yoggie    in Weather

Okay, technically Autumn doesn’t start until 6:23 PM EDT, but that is only four hours away so I’ll just go ahead and herald in the start of Autumn now.

I love this time of the year, leaves falling, grass no longer needs cutting as often, weather cools down, days get shorter. I like it when it is 7:00 PM and the sun is going down. Autumn also is the prelude to the holiday season. Columbus Day is coming (I wish we had that day off like the banks do), harvest festival is coming, Halloween is just around the corner, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Where has the year gone?

So happy Autumn everyone!

Feelin’ cool

Elfish Gimme 5

Posted by: Yoggie    in Gimme 5

1. Did your mother tell you stories aboute elves and trolls?
No, but since I was such a voracious reader when I was young I knew about elves and trolls when I was a wee lad.

2. Do you believe in elves and trolls?
No, yes, no, yes, maybe if it explains the things living under my bed.

3. Can you remember a story or movie, where elves and trolls appear?
I am a fan boy of hard fantasy and horror movies. I’ve probably seen every movie with an elf or troll that exists.

4. What would you be – an elf or a troll? Why?
An elf, but only a Tolkein elf. Elves are such elegant, graceful, mystical creatures in the LOTR stories.

5. Where do elves and trolls live?
Under my bed! And sometimes in my pants!

Cell Phone Friday Five

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

1. Who is your mobile phone provider, and how many minutes are in your plan?
Verizon and I have 200 or something. I never manage to use them all so my bill stays the same.

2. What program do you primarily use for instant messaging?
Trillian, though I will lapse into Yahoo! on occasion.

3. Who do you send and receive text messages from most?
Hmm, my girlfri… uhm my female acquaintances. Since I don’t use text messaging too much, I usually don’t have a person I text more often. And let me point out that I do not use the text messaging on my phone… I can’t seem to get it to work correctly.

4. What area code do you live in?
That big arse area code in Georgia – 912.

5. What year did you first get an e-mail address and do you still use it?
Let me see if I can remember back that far…. I think it was back in 1992 and I don’t have it anymore because it was a student account. Yes, we had student email accounts back then, we even had cars!

Join the Friday Five warriors as we take on….
