PC broken – and now?
1. Your computer stops working. Is it a bearable loss or is it a disaster?
At work it is a disaster (though I do have a slower second PC for other tasks that I can use in a fix). At home it is not so much of a disaster, but as it is the only PC we have we would be up the creek.
2. Who is your tech support? Do you have a friend or do you take it to a repair shop?
I am my own tech support at home, but we have tech support and repair at work for the work related PC.
3. What personal activities do you do on your PC?
I try to limit my personal activities on my work PC to reading the news during breaks and lunch. At home is when I do most of my personal email, blogging, movies, media, etc. We put the home PC through the paces.
4. What type of computer do you have? Old, new, laptop?
At work I have an E-series Pentium 4. At home I have a Pentium 4 equivalent AMD chip set on a G-series computer. Of the top of my head I don’t remember the specifics. It is slow as Christmas ( 1.1 gigahertz) with around 520 meg RAM and 40 gigs of hard drive.
5. How do you rate your PC knowledge?
I know enough to solve most software problems and can fix a few hardware problems.
