Friday Five for August 25, 2006

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

1. What book or books were special to you in your childhood?
The Martian Chronicles, War Of The Worlds, and Dangerous Planet.

2. What was particularly special or memorable about those books?
The writing and stories.

3. Have you re-read any of them as an adult?
Yes, The Martian Chronicles and War Of The Worlds.

4. If so, were the books as good as you remembered them?
Better. Some of the concepts were more clear.

5. What do you think about movies being made out of children’s classics (like the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of The Rings, etc.)?
First of all, Lord Of The Rings is not a children’s book. I shy away from movies based on children’s books since the ones I have seen are poor and disappointing adaptations at best.

Friday Five for August 18, 2006

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

1. Do you really make wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake?
No, I stopped when it was clear I was not going to marry Raquel Welch.

2. Have any of the wishes ever come true, if yes?
No, and I’m still pissed about not getting Raquel Welch.

3. How do you feel about birthdays? (e.g., love the attention, just another day, don’t want anyone to know my real age, etc.)
I used to like the attention, but it has gotten to be too much of a hassle.

4. Tell us a favorite gift you’ve received, or something you’d really like for your next birthday.
I would like a date with Raquel Welch, but since that’s not gonna happen, howabout a new car.

5. What flavor cake?
Classic yellow with home-made chocolate fudge icing.

Friday Five for August 11, 2006

Posted by: Yoggie    in Friday Five

1) What was the bravest thing you have every done?
There was a car accident and I helped the people, one of whom was injured the other who was in a panic, until the police and the ambulance arrived.

2) Describe the meanest thing you have ever done.
I hid one of my son’s toys. You know the one, the one that makes the annoying sound that only irritates parents, I eventually gave the toy back to him.

3) Tell us about the nicest thing anything anyone has done for you.
When the woman from question #1 said thank you.

4) What was the most insane thing you have ever witnessed or done?
Driving while overtired. I actually fell asleep at the wheel but kept on driving as if I were awake. I drove like that for about five minutes.

5) Describe the most “out of character” thing you secretly want to do.
Have a wild fling with some sweet young thing… but that is what fantasies are for.
