Observations of April 9, 2008

  • In the “What in God’s name are they drinking category”:  Disney is writing High School Musical 4.  What you didn’t know that High School Musical 3: Senior Year is coming out this year.  I am personally waiting for High School Musical 5:  All the cheerleaders get pregnant and the rest of the students get slashed by Jason.
  • Slow news day:  The Olympic torch is the sole cause of global warming!  It is bad enough that you can’t breath the air in Beijing, but now they are destroying the planet as well.  Or was that their agenda all along? i can hear them now… We win the right to have the Olympics is 2008, build giant torch, and plunge world into heat death while we, the Chinese people, survive in giant freezers.
  • I’m embarrassed to be a Georgian:  Georgia legislators are trying to allow concealed weapons in public places.  Yes, we need more weapons in restaurants and fast food joints… you never know when that hamburger will turn into a zombie and start attacking kids.
  • Why Star Trek stars should never be let out of their cages:  George Takei sings “On The Road Again”.  Please tell me you people did not watch that last night.  It could be worse… The Shat (though there are times he almost makes it).  At least Mr. Shatner has the ability to make fun of himself.
  • It was a good idea at the time:  Those in charge of the Mets stadium decided to let “fans” determine what song to play at the game…  Rick Rolled anyone?  I have no problems with the song or the artist, but Rick Rolling is one of the biggest things on the Internet and you’d have to be living under a rock to not know that was coming when they asked for a Met’s song. I mean they even Rick Rolled the game Doom (and it is obviously lethal). You can say that Fark is good for something.
  • I’ll just take my toys and go home award: The Mets for being spoilsports about the whole Rick Roll thing.
