Karen Ellis‘ apartment was damaged in a fire that engulfed her building leaving a person dead.  Though she was uninjured (outside of some smoke inhalation), her apartment was severely damaged and most of her possessions either destroyed or ruined beyond repair.  She is currently staying with friends and communicating through borrowed equipment while looking for another apartment.  There is currently a donation drive (http://girl-wonder.org/2009/02/benefit/) to help her with her financial needs.  Any amount will help.  There will also be fundraising auction to be announced at a later date.
