When I first saw the headline Fox accuses ‘The Muppets’ of brainwashing kids against the rich, I thought is was some kind of joke or a play on words, like Fox News was reviewing the movie or something. I get to the article and my jaw drops to the freakin’ floor! These people honestly believe that the Obama administration and liberals are using The Muppets to brainwash kids against the rich. Has Fox News suddenly fallen into an alternate universe? What the hell are you people thinking?
Fox News “anchors” are complaining about using the name Tex Richman as the villain in the movie. What do they suggest, using Homeless George Poorman as the villian? Yes, I can really see that selling as a greedy person who is trying to destroy the Muppets theater. So Poorman wants to tear down the building to expand the alley for him to sleep in? (I know, bad homeless person joke.)
Then the rant about Captain Planet being against the rich and industry. I seem to remember it was often RESPONSIBLE companies and the SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS rich people that were working with Captain Planet against the villains. (And did you notice that the villains in Captain Planet were representations of the Seven Deadly Sins and not any social class or group?)
I guess Fox “News” can go all the way back to the early radio, single reel movies, and dime novels and accuse the Obama administration of trying to brainwash kids in the past as well.
I am at a loss for words, Fox News has gone so far out there that they have lost all touch with reality.
