The ever popular and unique acting style (yet self-parodying) William Shatner is 73 today.
You ought to really check out his site, it is one of the best designed and attractive celebrity sites on the web. Plus there is a running blog by his lovely daughter Lisabeth. Of course Bill is expected to have his say.
So go wish the captain a Happy Birthday.

Today is Nancy Wilson‘s birthday!
Nancy, along with her sister Ann, form the core of the supergroups Heart and Lovemongers. Heart has a new CD and DVD out called Alive in Seattle and are about to start a US/Europe tour.
I still rock to numbers like Heartless, Magic Man, and Barracuda.

Today is the birthday of one of my favorite actresses of all time Miranda Richardson.
The absolutely beautiful woman turns 46 today.
You might remember her from such film roles as Gloria in “Get Carter”, Miss Tweedy in “Chicken Run”, Queen Elizabeth in the Blackadder series, Lady Mary Van Tassel in Time Burton’s “Sleepy Hollow”, Mab from the TV miniseries “Merlin”, and who could forget her as the IRA terrorist Jude in “The Crying Game”.
You might want to check a few of the fan appreciation pages dedicated to Mandy… Miranda Richardson Appreciation Site, Queen Mab’s Castle, Yahoo Mandy fan appreciation group, and the QueenMabs discussion group.
And if you so happen to be a fan of Mandy, fan mail can be sent to….
International Creative Mang.

Though I haven’t tried myself (yes, I’m chicken… run!), others have and with good results.
Oh yeah, I am completely in her power.

The ever lovely Southern Belle Delta Burke is 47 today. You remember the former Miss Florida, she played the clueless, gun toting, pig-lovin’ Suzanne Sugarbaker in “Designing Women”. She is still married to Gerald “Rick Simon” McRaney of “Simon and Simon”. She was recently in the movie “What Women Want” with Mel Gibson and is coming out with two movies “Good Boy!” and “Going For Broke”.
The English novelist Emily Bronte was born on this day. She is best known for one of my favorite novels “Wuthering Heghts”.
The lovely and talented singer-songwriter Kate Bush turns 45 today. The Irish-English songbird has always had a special place in my heart with her unusual video/performance style and sweet, beautiful voice that matches her physical beauty. She is currently not touring or making CD’s, but hopefully we can bring her out of retirement soon. If you happen to have a copy of MOJO UK version February 2003 edtion, she is on the cover. Visit this well crafted fan site when you get the chance. Yep, that woman stole my heart when we were young and she still has it.
Other notable birthdays today…
Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe of “Friends”) is 40.
Vivica A. Fox ( Jasmine Dubrow of “Independence Day”) is 39.
Christopher Nolan (director of “Memento”) is 33.
Christine Taylor (Marcia in the two recent Brady Movies) is 32.
Hilary Swank (Ellie Burr in “Insomia”) is 29.

Born on this day are….
Sue Lyon, who is 57 today. Sue is famous for her portrayal of the title character in the movie “Lolita” directed by Stanley Kubrick based on Vladimir Nabokov’s controversial book about pedophilia and sexual obsession. The film was turned into a comedy due to pressure from censors. She is also known for playing a similar character in John Huston’s “Night of the Iguana”.
Nikoli Tesla who died January 7, 1943. You may only remember the name as a rock group of the 80′s, but Nikoli was an inventor, scientist and engineer that best known for inventing Alternating Current, AC, which is the method that delivers power to our homes (Direct Current is not strong enough to deliver power more that a few yards). He is also credited with wireless communication, radio, and fluorescent lights.

A few birthdays on this day…
Jan Smithers is 54. You remember her, every teenage male had a crush on her character Bailey Quarters on the TV show “WKRP in Cincinnati”. There is just something about shy girls in glasses.
Laura Branigan is 46. She is a singer from 1982 who had the hit “Gloria”. Last I heard was in 2002 when she was playing Janis Joplin in the musical “Love, Janis”.
Hunter Tylo is 41. She is of course known as Dr. Taylor Hamilton Hayes Forrester on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
And not to leave out my wife’s drool boy, Tom Cruise is 41 today. If you don’t know who he is then get out from under the rock you’ve been living under.
