Mondays should be outlawed. I don’t know why I am so tired today. I slept well enough last night. I guess the lack of full sleep on Thursday is catching up with me.

It is back to the ol’ routine of housework and yard work. How can four people produce so much laundry in just seven days?
Yep, I forgot to use sunscreen yesterday and I was out in the sun all day. Lucky for me I don’t tend to burn (the UV rays have to make their way through my thick covering of fur and usually get lost on the way) and I’ll have a slight tan later in the week.
This is what happens when you have nothing to blog about, you blog about sunburns.

I don’t believe it. I actually got a day to myself to just do what I want! I took in a local college baseball game after doing some window shopping (I’m looking to buy a riding lawnmower) and went so far as to get some stadium food. You parents out there will appreciate how precious is a little “me” time.
Too bad there is nothing on TV tonight.

Yes, to all those who have asked, I did take a group of kids to an event 200 miles from home and brought them back in one day. Some of us can keep teens occupied while not seeming to be some kind of clueless adult trying to be hip. Believe it or not (I’m walking on air) teen girls can speak softly and be content on long road trips. I know, I was shocked that the trip went without a hitch and that request have been made for me to chaperone other events in the future… I just don’t know if I can handle getting up at 2 am to go on a trip at 4 am.

No, I was not at work today. I volunteered (or rather was volunteered) to chaperone or mentor some teens from my daughter’s class to a Brave’s baseball game today. The day went okay, I had no complaints, I’m just tired from all of the activity… keeping the kids safe and in line, covering the event, and making the 400 mile roundtrip drive which started at 4 am. I’m going to bed now.

After all the flooding we had over the past two weeks, it goes and rains yet again…. a big ol’ storm with lots of water Monday and the rivers went back up to flood stage if for only a few hours.
I will be out of town Thursday and I’ll be going to the Brave’s game as a chaperone for my daughter’s class which means no texting, no IM’s, no computer access all day. Being a computer/Internet junkie this going to be difficult. So if you don’t see me on the IM you’ll know were I’ll be… either on the road with a bunch of bored teenagers or at a baseball game with a bunch of bored teenagers. I am really looking forward to that 6 hour round trip.

We really need to come up with some holiday after major holidays. Having a holiday on Sunday makes you exhausted on Monday when you really need to get things done. I have so much to do today that I did not get done yesterday because it was Easter.

Saturday has become my day for getting the weekly groceries (Sunday is wash day). So I was off to get what I needed for the family get-together on Easter. You know stuff like bread, cake, chips, drinks, dip, etc. Exactly what is the host supplying I know not. While in town I decided to get me some new shoes as mine are losing their soles (I guess they lost out on a deal with the Devil). I haven’t changed shoe size in year and suddenly my shoe size is now up half a size. No wonder my feet have been hurting so much lately.
Did I tell you our closet shelving fell? I will be working on that sometime this next week as well. All of the clothes we had hanging in the closet are now on the floor. Grrrrrr!

So it is Good Friday. I have yet to see what is so good about it. Busy, busy, busy at work. Yard work, yard work, yard work, pool work at home. Did I tell you that part of our pool is sinking? We have one of those above-ground metal-tubing pools (we can’t have below ground pools because we are too close to the water table… I’m on top of a freakin’ hill!) and the footings on one side of pool disappeared some time ago and now the pool on that side is sinking into the soft ground (the metal tube are going deeper into the ground). I finally received the replacement parts for the pool, but I just don’t have time to drain the pool (the kids are already using it) to fix it.
And how did I get saddled with a $120 check for dinner tonight? And I had to tip the waitress too (though I did give her a generous 25% tip for all the trouble we caused her with the complicated order… and that she was cute as a button and touched me every time she came over… yeah, I am an easy target for big tips).

This week is trudging along. The days seem short but they just take forever to get here. I keep checking the calendar hoping that we can skip some day, but lo, that does not happen.
I really dread this weekend. I was told today we would be going to my sister-in-law’s house… yes, the hot red head. It is not that I don’t mind going, it is the fact that I will not be at home being lazy. And I have to go buy all these grocery items for the family get-together. Yes, I was told this about 20 minutes ago after I’ve been asking for the whole week. 20 minutes ago was 10:30 PM! Talking about waiting until the last minute. Of course I still have not been given the list of things I need to get, just that I will have to get some edibles. Does anyone else have a spouse that is a bit slow in telling you things?
